Leadership beyond the battlefield

The stories are shaped by combat, boardrooms, and family life. The lessons apply anywhere a person is entrusted with responsibility for others.

What is trusted intent?

Trusted intent is when people believe a leader’s actions reflect responsibility for the mission and genuine care for the people—never personal gain. When that belief exists, people do more than comply. They commit.

The Book

Trusted Intent is a story-driven leadership book about why people follow some leaders and merely comply with others. It is not a formula, a checklist, or a theory of heroic leadership. It is a practical exploration of trustworthy leadership through real stories of responsibility, example, sacrifice, accountability, humility, competence, wisdom, failure, and growth.

The lessons are drawn from military command, crisis response, corporate leadership, and family life, but the message is broader than any one field. Leadership exists anywhere people place their trust in someone else.

Built on real stories

The manuscript draws from combat, command, mentorship, mistakes, parenting, and corporate leadership to show what trustworthy leadership actually looks like.

Centered on responsibility

Leadership is not about privilege. It is about carrying responsibility for the mission, the people, and the consequences of your decisions.

Written for work and home

The lessons apply to executives, managers, coaches, teachers, parents, and anyone entrusted with leading other people.

Blake Glass, author and executive leadership speaker

Brigadier General Blake Glass has spent more than three decades as an infantry officer, leading soldiers at every level from platoon through brigade. His experience includes commanding a 5,000-soldier brigade, leading combat operations in Iraq, serving in other hostile environments around the globe, and advising senior leaders during moments of real national security crisis.

Blake serves as a Land Development Manager with PulteGroup’s West Florida Division. He holds a master’s degree in business from the University of Florida and a Master of Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College, and has completed executive education at Harvard Kennedy School.

At the center of Blake’s life are his wife, Ashley, and their sons, Jacob and Charlie. They live in Palm Harbor, Florida, and his experience as a husband and father continues to shape how he approaches responsibility, sacrifice, trust, and what it means to lead others well.

Across military command, national security, corporate leadership, and family life, Blake has observed a consistent truth: people follow leaders whose intent they trust when it matters most.
